Bioclimatic greenhouses
Bioclimatic greenhouses with thermal break metal profiles

What is meant by bioclimatic structures?
Bioclimatic greenhouses are state-of-the-art roofing systems that allow you to shield the sun’s rays, allowing light to enter, thanks to a system with adjustable metal profiles with thermal break (in corten or brass).
Using this technology it is possible to:
Shelter from the sun’s rays, allowing light and air to enter.
Protecting from the rain.
Save on air conditioning / heating costs.
But be careful, a glass cover is not enough to qualify a greenhouse as “bioclimatic. The structures and bioclimatic greenhouses must necessarily comply with some requirements governed by a law:
The structures must face south (south east and south west).
Windows and windows must be able to retain solar energy during the winter and favor shading during the summer.
They must guarantee a reduction in consumption of at least 10%.
They cannot be larger than 15% compared to the adjacent property.
The glass surface of the structure must be equal to or greater than 50% of the total.
Each municipality can have its own ordinances / directives regarding building materials, permits and authorizations, for this reason it is important to inquire about them.
What are the advantages of a bioclimatic greenhouse?
The main advantage is energy savings, eg. if the structure is leaning against the wall of a house, the latter will remain cooler in the summer and warmer during the winter months.
This technology is perfect to be applied to the outdoor areas of bars and restaurants, pergolas, greenhouses and lemon houses made by arteeferro.
The bioclimatic greenhouses created by Nicola Cuppari are the perfect example of how art and design can be perfectly combined with technology.
What are the costs of a bioclimatic greenhouse?
Estimating the price of a bioclimatic greenhouse is quite complicated because you have to take into account several factors such as the size of the greenhouse and what materials are used to make it.
It is important to choose quality materials that can last for a long time, in this way maintenance costs will also be reduced, postponing them for several years.
Arteeferro is always available to make free estimates and to clarify any doubts.
